Caitlyn Jenner Talks Kim Kardashian's 'Ugly' Met Gala Flower Dress

August 2024 · 2 minute read

Straight-talking! Caitlyn Jenner surprised listeners during an onstage Q&A on Wednesday, February 2, when she revealed she’s very grateful to daughter Kim Kardashian for her fashion advice — before totally dissing the reality star’s flower dress she wore at the 2013 Met Gala!

The former Olympian was speaking out at the Makers Conference at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, when she discussed the fact that after nearly six years of living in isolation in Malibu, she now loves going out on the town with her pals.

But as well as thanking Kardashian for the advice she offered, which has made Jenner feel so much more comfortable stepping out in public, she also inadvertently revealed her true thoughts on her stepdaughter’s controversial floral gown!

“I’m totally into [socializing] now! Let’s get dressed and let’s go out!” Jenner said. “My daughter Kimberly said, ‘Every time you go out, girl, you gotta rock it. They’re gonna get that one bad picture of you and they’re gonna just work it forever!'” she went on.

“I don’t know if you remember her, when she was pregnant with the first one, little North, she had this flowery outfit on that went from head to toe,” Jenner continued. “I don’t know, it still pops up its ugly head every once in a while, you know?” she added, before backtracking a little: “Actually it’s kind of nice.”

Oops! Not that we think Kardashian’s that likely to take offense at Jenner’s public dis of her fashion choices. The reality star already showed her own sense of humor about the Riccardo Tisci outfit (which was likened to a couch via several funny memes in 2013) when she used it as a Halloween costume back in October.

Jenner’s conversation at the Makers Conference was pretty revealing in other ways too. As Us Weekly previously reported, the parent of 10 made a video that was previewed earlier in the day on the Today show, in which she revealed that she’d attempted to transition once before, even having had 36B breasts in the 1980s.
