Joe Jonas made a visit to Reddit Tuesday, where he led a candid Ask Me Anything chat — discussing everything from his high-profile split from the Jonas Brothers, the rumors of his drug addiction-past and his, um, penis size.
Here are 5 of the biggest bombshells from the 27-year-old DNCE frontman’s chat.
1. Joe lost his virginity to ex-girlfriend Ashley Greene
At the beginning of this career, Joe and Jonas Brothers Nick and Kevin vowed not to have premarital sex — marking the very public statement by wearing purity rings.
But by 2010, Joe’s purity ring was out the window when he lost his virginity to then-girlfriend Ashley Greene. (The couple broke up in 2011 after almost a year dating). Their sexual experience came with a funny story.
“I didn’t have any condoms,” Joe explained. “So I went to our drummer Jack’s room — who was my roommate at the time — and I demolished his room looking for them. [I] found them underneath his underwear drawer. When he came home, he thought somebody broke into his room because his whole room was demolished.”
“I was in dire need,” Joe added. “Needed to happen then and now. Safety first, kids.”
(For her part, Greene responded Wednesday with a simple Instagram post reading, “Class is timeless.”)
2. He’s super embarrassed by CampRock
In 2008, Joe costarred with his brothers and ex-girlfriend Demi Lovato in a Disney channel original movie CampRock — where he played a teen idol at a music camp for gifted teens who finds musical inspiration from a camp kitchen worker (Lovato).
He doesn’t look back fondly on the project.
“[On a] 1-10 rating of how embarrassing CampRock is to me now, 10 being the most and 1 being the least, I’m going to give it a solid 8,” Joe admitted. “When I see old merchandise from CampRock days or somebody is like, ‘Oh my god, CampRock is my jam,’ I really have a hard time believing them.”
So what exactly is Joe embarrassed by? “I think my flat iron hair and my squeaky voice are a little embarrassing,” he said. “Also, I watch it now and realize it was so many years ago, it is really bad quality. It just reminds me of how much older I am now.”
He added that his dance moves are cringeworthy too — something he and rapper Tyler the Creator agree about.
“My dance moves in CampRock were so terrible,” Joe said. “I thought I was killing the game, too. Actually, Tyler the Creator posted it one day and I was like, ‘Oh, cool! Tyler thinks my dance moves are sick!’ and I realized he was just totally calling me out for being a total d——- and the way I danced, but respectfully.”
3. Joe was shocked and angry when the Jonas Brothers split — but it had nothing to do with a drug addiction
Joe was thrown for a loop when the Jonas Brothers split in 2013.
“When it happened, we were focussing on going on another tour and we had plans to hit the road and do what we had been doing for a while,” he explained. “Nick brought it to the table that he wanted to focus on different things, like acting and doing music on his own. It was really shocking to me because it was kind of all I had known was the Jonas Brothers, forever. So, I was pretty mad and confused because…I’ve been putting so much time and effort into this for so long and now I just have to stop and figure out what’s next.”
Those feelings of confusion turned to anger towards Nick and a communication breakdown between Joe and his brothers.
“I wasn’t on speaking terms with my brothers,” he said. “I was a little envious of Nick because I knew that he already had kind of a leg up and had plans to work on music already and he was creating and producing. So, I was probably mad at him, too. I remember kind of losing it a little bit and I didn’t speak to anybody. I closed myself off and we cancelled the tour and didn’t really know what was going on.”

After seeking the help of a therapist and taking some time away from creating, Joe began to travel and find himself. “I’m really glad I took so much time away because I’m able to find myself and create music that I’m proud of,” he said. “I started a little bit of acting and opened a restaurant. I was trying to see if maybe there was a different career path that I would go into. Ultimately, I realized that I really enjoy the music stuff, so that’s really where I found home.”
As for the rumors of his drug addiction, Joe was quick to clarify “that was all false.”
“That probably would have made me look really cool, but unfortunately that wasn’t real,” he added.
4. Joe’s totally down with the rumors of his large penis size
While Nick and Joe are tight now — even getting matching tattoos recently — there is still one rivalry floating on the internet about the two and their brother Kevin. And it has to do with which Jonas Brother has the biggest penis.
Joe said he’s all for those who says he’s “hangin’ the most meat in his skinny jeans.”
“I like to think so,” he told a Reddit user. “Although, it’s not often that I’m in a locker room or shower with my brothers, so I couldn’t really tell you. But, I’d like the Internet to believe that I’m still killin’ it.”
As if that weren’t enough TMI, Joe admitted he got aroused while filming the NSFW video for DNCE’s new single “Body Moves.”
“There was definitely some half chubbing going on during the video,” he said. “I wouldn’t say a full blown boner, but I would say a haflie. I mean it’s kind of hard not to in that situation especially when you’re trying to be intimate.”
5. He has a man crush on Ken Bone
Joe Jonas is comfortable enough with his sexuality that he can admit to having a few man-crushes. But while professing his love for Matthew McConaughey and Daniel Craig, the singer listed one surprising pick: America’s favorite undecided voter, Ken Bone!
“I’m pretty into this guy, Ken Bone, recently, tbh.” Joe said. “He kind of takes top of the list for me.”
Bone, who told Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday that he’s still not sure whether he’s voting for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, might lose Joe’s love though — “depending on who he votes for.”
Picking a candidate to vote for in this election just got that much harder, Ken.
