Kids at heart! On Sunday, Feb. 22, Hollywood big shots Ryan Gosling and director Guillermo del Toro forwent the 87th Annual Academy Awards in favor of goofing off at Disneyland.
The pair were photographed on a Cars ride, with the Drive star, 34, at the wheel and the Pinocchio director, 50, in the passenger seat. Gosling has a long history with Disney, getting his start as a Mouseketeer alongside Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake back in 1993. Now it seems the new dad is testing out the ride for his 5-month-old daughter Esmeralda.
Ironically, del Toro was wearing a How to Train Your Dragon hat on the ride. He is an executive producer for the third installment of the beloved animated film from Disney’s rival Dreamworks, which is set to come out in 2018.

The pals spent the day at the theme park, posing for several photos with fans.
Though fans might associate Gosling with the Oscars, it’s actually not unusual for him to be absent from the awards show. In fact, the last time he attended was in 2007, when he was nominated for his performance in Half Nelson. Similarly, the only time del Toro attended was also in 2007 when he was nominated for the screenplay of Pan’s Labyrinth.
