Serena Williams is back and so is the one-shoulder Off-White x Nike Queen Collection dress (seen above) the 23-time Grand Slam champion wore to night one of the 2018 U.S. Open on Monday, August 27. Then following the tennis tradition of athletes rocking slight tweaks on the same outfit throughout a tournament, she came out for her second-round match on Wednesday, August 29, in a lavender version of the frock and the colorful style was even more eye-catching.
Of course we loved the OG outfit and all that came with it! In addition to designing the single-sleeved frock that has a one-shoulder effect thanks to nude paneling and a tutu-inspired tulle skirt, Virgil Abloh (the men’s artistic director of Louis Vuitton, founder of Off-White and frequent Nike collaborator) created a cropped bomber warmup jacket and matching racquet bag to accessorize the dress. Oh, and then there’s the compression fishnet stockings, “SW”-embroidered socks and sparkly trainers that all feature Off-White’s signature quotation graphics reading “LOGO” and “SERENA” that complete the look.
Williams’ has been sporting the complete ensemble every time she takes the court, and she most recently re-wore the black edition of the frock for her quarterfinal match against Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic on Tuesday, September 4.

Though the Off-White x Nike Queen Collection marks Abloh’s first foray into tennis wear, he’s been seen in William’s player box during some of her matches, and shared on Instagram that he’s “willing to design dresses for her for life.” So while we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this genius partnership, we’re going to take a minute and marvel at this year’s epic styles.
