A WOMAN who was stabbed 32 times by her abusive ex-boyfriend has married the paramedic who saved her life.

Melissa Dohme, from Florida, was just 20 years old when Robert Lee Burton launched a frenzied knife attack on her outside her home, slashing her hands, arms, face and neck.

After the attack, Melissa, now 25, met Cameron Hill, now 42, one of the paramedics who saved her life, at a speaking event in 2012.

The pair exchanged numbers and started dating with Cameron popping the question in May 2015.

Following a two-year engagement, the couple married infront of 200 of their loved ones on March 4 at the Lange Farm in Dade City, Florida, the Daily Mail has reported.

Melissa said: "It was a full circle moment.

"I spent the worst and best day of my life with Cameron."

Cameron added that he had married the "girl of his dreams".

Guests included friends, family, and six doctors and firefighters who were also part of saving Melissa's life.

Following the attack in 2012, Melissa spent several days in intensive care. She had had 19 stab wounds on her head, neck and face, was missing teeth and doctors had to shave her head.

Meanwhile, Burton had attempted to kill himself but was unsuccessful.

Burton was given life without parole in August 2013.
